Welcome to Ormeau Shearers Junior and Senior Rugby League Football Club.

We are a not-for-profit sporting club located at the northern end of the Gold Coast.

We play in the Gold Coast competition - juniors play Friday nights and/or Saturdays; Senior men play Sunday games and Senior women play Saturdays.

We have junior mixed teams from U6 - U12, boys teams from U13 - U18,  as well as Men's Opens teams (U20s, DLC & A-Grade) and last but never least, we also have an Open Women's team.

We are a family friendly club run solely by volunteers. We encourage all families to get involved with their child's sport and offer a variety of ways in which you can become involved.

Our girls U12, U14, U16 & U18 teams will be returning in 2021.

2020 Junior FINALS

And just like that, the 2020 junior season is over.
Considering we were lucky to get on the field in 2020, between COVID restrictions & fire ants, the club is extremely thankful for the support and commitment from our players, coaches, managers, trainers, volunteers and sponsors. You have all been a part of an unprecedented season, in 2020 and your commitment to both the season and the club is to be commended!

Special congratulations go to our U13 Division 3 & Under 16 Division 2 teams who finished as 2020 Minor Premiers! Although RLGC are not acknowledging 2020 premierships, due to the unprecedented season, we believe the efforts of these teams should be recognised by the club. Well done to both teams and their dedicated coaching & support staff. 🏆 🏆

Further congratulations to U16 Division 2 for taking the win in their grand final to finish as 2020 Premiers (also only acknowledged by the club). 🏆

Finally, congratulations to all Ormeau teams who played last weekends junior finals. With school holidays, illness & injuries seeing many of our teams playing with reduced numbers (our U16 Division 1 team played their final with only 13 players) we appreciate your effort and congratulate you on your season!

Commiserations to our U14 team who missed their grand final after a forfeit by their opposition.

Under 16 Division 2 2020 Premiers
Ormeau Shearers RLFC would like to acknowledge and thank the Australian Government through the Australian Sports Commission (SportAus) for its significant contribution of $500,000 towards the construction of our community clubhouse and unisex changerooms which was delivered at a total cost of $812,000. This grant, together with contributions from other funding partners (Cr Donna Gates & Gold Coast City Council, Rugby League Gold Coast, the club and Gambling Community Benefit Fund) and support from Bert van Manen MP was pivotal in bringing this long awaited project to fruition.
Project benefits include:
Increased sport participation and provision of safer facilities.
Community hub infrastructure for Ormeau providing sport, recreational and community groups with a home for meetings, functions and events.
Facilities are compliant for females and thus support female participation.
Numerous jobs were supported through construction which is critically important on the Gold Coast given the Pandemic.
Without the support of government funding this project could not have been delivered.
